HOW CAN HOMEOWNERCOACH HELP YOU?I can help you understand the building envelope of your home (that’s all the exterior walls and roof) of your home, where there are infiltration leaks, insulation voids and heat loss is occurring and how to tighten up it up; what, if any, types of insulation would be best for your home, and share my knowledge of what is termed “building science”. It’s not rocket science, and with knowledge you’ll know what to look if or when you buy your next home. Help you decide whether to repair or replace your current window, show you how to repair rotted sections on sills or sashes, make you knowledgeable about what constitutes a high quality installation of new or replacement windows, and add various kinds of weather stripping Guide you through and prioritize the steps of planning and executing a “green remodeling” of your home on an room by room basis, including how and what would be involved in super insulating your current exterior walls. I can walk you through the latest advances in window frame and glazing technology and advise you what would work best on the east, south, west and north sides of your home. Skylights or sun tubes? Every home benefits from abundant natural day lighting. In general I believe more is always better. I’ll help you figure out where and what kind, stock or custom made, show you leak proof ways to install it, and guide you through the process. I have both on my roof. Some jobs are bigger than you and I working together are going to want to tackle, or require the services of a specialist. At those times I call upon a small coterie of 5–star trades people and professionals. The kitchen is THE most important area in a home, so planning and layout is so important in achieving a new kitchen that works best for you now, but could also have features of universal design that would enable you to live in your home for as long as you wish. I bring a good deal of information, thought provoking questions, and ideas to the table with a no-charge consultation in your current kitchen. |
